Core metrics
A broadcast can report:audience— contacts captured from the selected segmenteligible— contacts that remained after eligibility checksexcluded— contacts removed before deliveryqueued— recipient emails queued for deliverydelivered— messages reported deliveredbounced— messages reported bouncedcomplained— messages associated with a complaintfailed— recipients or messages that failedopened— recipients with an observed open eventclicked— recipients with an observed click event
Audience metrics
The difference betweenaudience and eligible represents contacts removed by audience eligibility rules.
Use the exclusion summary to inspect counts grouped by reason, such as global unsubscribe, suppression, invalid email, or topic opt-out.
Delivery metrics
queued represents recipients handed off to the normal email delivery pipeline. Delivery outcomes can then change independently for each recipient.
A lower delivered count than queued count does not necessarily indicate a fanout problem. Some messages may still be in progress, while others may later bounce or fail.
Engagement metrics
opened and clicked summarize tracked engagement events associated with the broadcast’s email messages.
Treat these metrics as observed signals rather than perfect measurements. Email client privacy features and tracking behavior can affect whether open events are visible.
Recipient-level investigation
Aggregate analytics are best for understanding the overall result. When you need to investigate a specific address, use the broadcast recipient list and the linked email message where available.Audience
Review how recipients become eligible or excluded before fanout.
